Tom today tells stories
that are flat out lies and distortions of the truth. He STOLE part of his mob story
from the manuscript to the book "House of Cards" by Rocky Scarfone which led to
a long court battle between the two men.
Comments Rock made to me over the phone (10/9/02) which were also transcribed to me
through e-mail for purposes of accuracy (though I occasionally highlight certain words
throughout some of my writings, when I directly quote Rock Scarfone the emphases are his,
not mine)...
For the record:
Rock Won (7/24/02) against Tom's last and final motion to dismiss, showing he had a
case. Tom's ANSWER (8/15/02) was nothing at all. Tom never said he did not do
it.
And then a settlement was made and a VOLUNTARY STIPULATION OF DISMISSAL was filed by Rock
(like he did with Dobson/Focus & CBN) dismissing the case.
Notice that the Dismissal was by Rock, and that
"this cause of action be treated as if it had
been adjudicated on the MERITS, barring both parties
from raising any issues litigated in this
cause of action in any court of law"...
Well what were the merits? Rock's suit was approved on merits and Tom's last and
final motion to dismiss was DENIED.
But, why did Rock settle the case; He was in the driver's seat?
I spoke with Rock, he said he fought this battle for a few years BEFORE the suit was filed
in 1999, that he agreed (with Tom agreeing also) not to discuss the settlement and would
not say how much money Tom paid to weasel out, but he did say his health and the time and
costs involved were simply overwhelming, and that it was always a TRUTH issue and that it
was time for someone else to publish and fight this Christian Battle against what many
"so called Great Christians are doing", and how we must let the world know that
there is ongoing fraud.
Rock also advised me that he would produce radio shows and further websites to battle this
issue of DECEIT head-on. That he was not giving up on the issue, just that he
decided to focus on the whole picture, because, and I quote, "Issues like I have
faced for the last 5 years would not be issues if Churches and Christian Men and Woman
simply read the BIBLE and the facts and REFUSED to allow any man or woman of any obvious
sign, quote or fact of DECEIT to mount the pulpit".
He said that "YOU should simply not buy anything from those whose entire focus is the
money".
He also said:
"The past legal issues were truly clouding up the BIG PICTURE ...leading folks to
think that all the works I did to up-root fraud, lies, subversion -scientology &
godlessness among others -- and dishonesty against the CHURCH at eznewstv.com were some
how tied to a Rock Vs The Other Guy Issue, rather than The Other Guy's ISSUES of
TRUTH and LIES."
He further said that this "was hurting the Word Of God and Truth"...
and
"It is up to the GRASS ROOTS OF THE CHURCH to READ the stories PUBLISHED ONLINE by
folks who care and are taking great risks by PUBLISHING THESE SAID FACTS ABOUT those who
seem like prominent men and woman who are supported by WHAT SEEMS LIKE prominent Christian
Press and Organizations, but are TRULY after how many MEMBERS and DOLLARS they can raise,
while living in GREAT MANSIONS!"
Rock said that he will not discuss the lawsuit, but as far as discussing what he thinks of
the facts of GOD'S SAVING GRACE MINISTRIES (Tom's organization), Focus On The Family and
CBN among others, well, he plans to develop a talk show and post a News Letter about Fraud
In The Church with funds he was recently blessed with...

Case Law (Scarfone vs. Papania)
Rock had to file a lawsuit
to get Focus on the Family and CBN to stop their promotion of Tom. Rock also sought
monetary damage in order to pay for his legal fees. Both organizations (Focus &
CBN) eventually settled out of court with him for dollar amounts that remain
confidential. As stated earlier, Tom also settled out of court for an undisclosed
amount of money. Tom cannot use any of his many websites to deny the settlement
because he would be in violation of the settlement agreement! Yet even after the
settlement Tom continues to lie to churches all because the large ministries refuse to
warn the public about him. By their silence they contribute to the man's fraud and
help to aid in his deception of the public. Focus on the Family was the first major
organization responsible for boosting Tom's popularity when the ministry aired his false
testimony on their radio broadcast and to this day refuse to acknowledge their
responsibility in the matter:

Today reported on the original Scarfone / Papania lawsuit. CT
deceitfully portrayed Scarfone as an opportunist and Papania as a victim of fame. CT
never reported on Scarfone's eventual victory over Papania (nor the subsequent contract
dispute), and stated that Scarfone's lawsuits against Focus on the Family and CBN were
dismissed without mentioning that both organizations settled with Scarfone out of court by
paying him money.
This is why we can't trust the mainstream "Christian" media to tell us the
truth. A lot of big name "ministry" personalities once promoted Tom
Papania and will do whatever they can to cover up the embarrassment of this story.
